San Diego Futsal Camps for “Soccer” skills

Friday, July 30th, 2010

If your child is in to soccer and you want to give them a great opportunity, you must try FUTSAL.  Coached by two amazing soccer and futsal coaches, Mario Mrakovic and Steve Leacock (Steve-o) your kid will learn from two of the best.  In Futsal as it compares to soccer a lower bounce ball is used and it is played on a basketball court.  Where I am all for the amount of running that is involved with soccer, if you want your kid to REALLY learn soccer skills, this is the best way to do it.  The kids get more foot ON the ball time, more scoring opportunities (which builds confidence) and more passing practice.  The sport of Futsal is scheduled for the 2012 Olympics and is a pro sport in most other countries.  Where it was a new sport for us to try, it is not a new sport to the world.

See their website here  http://www.sandiegofutsal.com

See the kids on KUSI San Diego here.  It is at the end of the sports cast about the last minute and a half.

Here is my son in action and the coaches Mario and Steve-o

Skyler the Wonder Dog

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

I haven’t had extra time to add blogging to my summer list as we had an addition to our family about 1 1/2 months ago.  Skyler is our new border collie puppy that we adopted from the Border Collie Rescue . We had been missing our border collie Tyler who passed away 2 years ago.  We still have our 14 year old schnauzer Grace but the kids were wanting a dog they could play with.  We have that and then some in Skyler.  She is a typical puppy and border collie and if you know anything about the two, they equal ENERGY ENERGY ENERGY!  She is lots of fun and already learning agility courses and many commands.  She is either rejuvenating my old dog (they play together incessantly…not always to Grace’s delight) or killing her.  Our family has been taking many walks and trips to the park and our arms and furniture are suffering from teeth marks…..but/and WE LOVE HER.

This was her the second day we had her, 8 weeks old. She has already grown so much.

She loved the balloons from my son's bday party.
